After many nights burning the midnight oil while I slept the new version of BlenderTrain is now ready for download. It now has a steam engine, the option to change to passenger cars and turn off the coal systems, coupling/uncoupling and automatic coal loading.

BlenderTrain.exe is for Windows XP only (It will probably go alright on other Windows versions. No Promises) and will require at least a 32mb open GL video card and 512 ram to get a reasonable frame rate. The .blend file is now also available for other operating systems.
